ANC Pillbox Hat - Image 1

ANC Pillbox Hat

The Pillbox Hat is an ode to the old veteran and trucker hats, as well as painter/pillbox hats worn in the ‘80s and ‘90s. These hats were popular amongst much of society in regard to the painter hats, and very much so in army vets and farmers in regard to the trucker hats known as ‘Oak Leaf Hats’. In an effort to create something new, I decided to fuse the two ideas into one; a pillbox hat with a flat top, combined with the prominent oak leaf feature. To go against the popular norm, I decided to combine navy with black because in my humble opinion, black and navy do go together. The additional striping was inspired by a Philadelphia Eagles hat in my personal collection that has 3 stripes similar to that on the ANC Pillbox hat. I chose to implement leather detailing because it is a material not used often in headwear, yet I think it looks amazing. The Yellow Logo was inspired by the America Needs Farmers logo created by the state of Iowa. Instead of an F, it implements a C to represent the collection name “America Needs Farmers”
