The Genesis Premiere
No my car did not break down … #acuragang. However faking that was pivotal to the story behind the premiere. So the story goes like this —- Im on the way to a studio to film the genesis premiere and shoot the final product shots for the collection, when all the sudden my car breaks down. With no idea on what went wrong or how to fix it, I go on a walk to blow off some steam. While I’m frustrated trying to clear my mind on a beaten path, I stumble across a chair. In other words, I stumble on something that will give me some time to reflect and realize how this isn’t the end of the world. As I sit and reflect, I come to my senses to realize the most important aspect of this entire collection; I never needed any fancy equipment to do the things that I have done so far. As I always say, “if you can’t get out of it, get into it”. My mind quickly flips back and forth to the collection that I have come so far with, and it’s in that moment that I realize all along this was the perfect location to film the premiere. As the beaten path formed a runway of sorts, the film then cuts to me walking said “runway” debuting the entire collection. Flipping back and forth between cut scenes, I show off all the details and fits of the collection. The premiere ends with an overhead shot of the welders cap, and me walking off a studio set. It flashes the collections logos and officially closes out season 1. I scouted this area but not this specific trail a year ago when driving through The Dalles on the way to a concert at the Gorge Amphitheater. In Oregon, everything is green in the winter from the rain, but in the summer the grass immediately dies off because of the dryness. The landscape in The Dalles is breathtaking and I knew without a doubt I wanted to end the collection here in some way. With only one free weekend to film the premiere, I took a gamble on a random trail I find on google maps and a few hours of sunlight. The result speaks for itself.
