Genesis Boot
The Genesis of Jerry Lester Studios. The 7oz. Austin Double Shoulder boot was made with inspiration from hiking and dress up boots. While my love for designing clothes is huge, my love for fashion in general is much greater. Simply put, I love clothes, and for the longest time, I had been in search of a black boot for my personal collection. I loved the hiking style of boots like Danner, Paraboot, etc., but also the look of black boots that you can formally wear like Saint Laurent, etc. I figured, if I can't find what I'm looking for, why not make it myself? The design was quite literally made from me taping up a shoe last and drawing it on top. From there I laid the tape flat, traced out the design and iterated it multiple times until it satisfied my liking. I created the first pair in March 2024, but it was more or less simply for show. My goal was to get them produced at a larger scale, and I just needed them to look how I wanted as a basis for someone else to copy it for me. As much as I wanted to wear them out, they would have fallen apart if I had done so. A year later, I had made no progress on finding a manufacturer with a reasonable MOQ, so I decided enough was enough, and I was going to remake the boot to my exact liking and to a fully wearable product. In March 2025, the Genesis Boot was successfully revamped into a wearable and much more durable version.
